This is Rose, who was the first recipient of a recordable bear, provided from the Forever Memories Fund at The Myton Hospices. The Foundation was instrumental in setting up the fund, which helps patients and their families make the most difficult times that little bit more manageable. The Children’s Counselling Service have purchased a selection of soft toys which can record the voice of a loved one who is receiving care at Myton, providing the children with comfort at a very difficult time.
Receiving a recordable bear from the Carl Lewis Foundation when Rose’s dad was in the hospice gave her such a wonderful boost. She affectionately named him “Sparkles” and he became a source of comfort for her and still does. The bears are an amazing tool to help bring joy into the lives of bereaved children and create a special recording of their loved ones voice to treasure forever. It truly brought light to us at a dark time and we are so grateful.
