Foundation funds hearing devices for Myton Hospice patients

The Foundation is pleased to have been able to fund the purchase of hearing devices for use by patients at the Coventry Myton Hospices In-Patient Unit.

The hearing amplifiers have benefited the patients that have used them so far. It has made communication so much easier for them, both for them to communicate more easily, and for the staff and volunteers to be able to talk to them and understand exactly what their needs are. It means that we can give much more effective treatment in a medical sense, but also that their needs can be more fully met in a holistic way. For example, how many sugars they would like in their tea (very important in my opinion!) or even being able to watch and hear their favourite TV programme. All of the things that can prove difficult if your hearing isn’t as good as it could be. I know that the patients that have made use of the equipment have really appreciated them.
